Welcome to Wivenhoe Sailing Club
During these difficult times the Clubhouse and Club facilities will remain closed until further notice.
Please see the ‘Updates’ posted on this page for the latest information as the situation changes.
Access to member’s boats is possible but all events have been cancelled. Members may use their own craft (canoe, rowing boat, sailing dinghy, cruiser etc) either as individuals or as a group from the same household. And Members may work on their boats, either as individuals or as a group from the same household adhering to social distancing guidelines. Members are responsible for their own safety and are advised to take extra care when planning trips on the water (weather, tides, personal ability etc.) to minimise any call on rescue services.
The Club will be holding regular Zoom virtual meetings for members on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons so that we all can still stay in touch with each other.
The Club will also be engaged in Online Club Racing (with up to 20 players per race) courtesy of Virtual Regatta & the Royal Yachting Association. On Monday evenings the Club hosts regular Zoom meetings to discuss and explore this activity.
More information on all these events can be found below or on the Club calendar.
Please send an email via our Contact Page should you have any questions regarding the Club and activities during this time.
Please look after yourselves and others so that we can enjoy each other’s company ashore and afloat as soon as it is safe to do so.
