Itinerary:
09:00 – Clubhouse opens. Arriving trailers to be unhitched outside WSC and walked down onto slipway under direction of marshalls.
10:00 – Registration opens
10:45 – Race briefing to be attended by Coxes and one additional crew member only.
11:00 – Launching commences

Start times (could vary due to circumstances):
12:00 – Race 1: Ladies Race
13:00 – Race 2: Men’s Race
14:00 – Race 3: Mixed Race
14:30 – Recovery on to trailers

The results will be announced and prize giving upstairs in the Clubhouse as soon as possible after all gigs have been recovered.

All Sailing Club facilities are available to competitors. Tea / Coffee and breakfast Rolls will be available from 9.00am.

(Note: Vegetarian rolls need to be ordered in advance – email by 10 Jan. Cakes and drinks will be available during the day. Hot food will be available following the final race, and the Bar will be open from lunchtime.

Row & Ramble to the Albion at Rowhedge.

There will be a 1903 Dutch Barge “Vrouwe Alberdina” as transport for those that are unable to row their own boat.  She seats around 30.

Pick-up & drop-off at the Clubhouse pontoon from 12:00 onwards. The plan is to return around 14:30 for safety reasons as we need to be back before dark.

The Albion are more than happy for you to take your own food as they not serve food.

The celebrations will continue at the Clubhouse with a chilli (vegetarian option also available) and of course the bar will be open.

Single-handed Ocean Sailing in small boats

The Wivenhoe Sailing Club is delighted to welcome John Apps to the club on Saturday 30th November to talk about his single-handed ocean sailing experience in boats mostly less than 30 feet.

Known amongst his friends as the East Coast’s answer to Crocodile Dundee, John has crossed the Atlantic 3 times (twice in a yacht of only 27 feet), sailed the Pacific Ocean, been to the Southern Ocean via Greenland, Ascension Island and much more.

During his talk John will be discussing his early days as a Jester Challenger, his Azores and Atlantic challenges

Talk starts 7.30pm. Bar open from 7pm

 

Rivercare Cleanup

WSC members are encouraged to join in with the Wivenhoe Society and Wivenhoe Canoe Club to clean up our river.

Tail End Race 2019
A Fun Race from Brightlingsea to Bradwell with either a cruise in company back on Saturday or an overnight stay in Bradwell with an evening meal at the Green Man and a cruise back on Sunday 6th October.

The race is open to WRYOA, ACBOC and WSC members.
Please note berths at Bradwell Marina will be in short supply and cannot  be guaranteed so early booking is advisable. Meals must be booked in advance and as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Race
The Tail End Race is a handicap race for all sailing craft to compete for the Tail End Trophy. Competitors must fly the WRYOA flag, the WSC or ACBOA burgee. No open boats are permitted.

Evening plans: The prize giving will be made on Saturday evening at Bradwell.

Food: Anyone staying overnight is welcome to join other participants for a meal at the Green Man -The contact is Rob Maloney.

Entrants: Must confirm their entry on the morning of the Rally with the nominated Committee Boat, Desire, which will be on station in the vicinity of Bateman’s Tower.
